NECESSARY THINGS FOR HAJJ AND UMRAH

Those people, who are embarking upon Hajj or Umrah, should realize that they are going for a sacred journey which is totally different than any other journey, so one have to prepare mentally, physically and especially spiritually for this lifetime journey to achieve maximum blessings of ALLAH Almighty.


Verse 2:197 of Holy Quran;
Hajj is [during] well-known months, so whoever has made Hajj obligatory upon himself therein [by entering the state of ihram], there is [to be for him] no sexual relations and no disobedience and no disputing during Hajj. And whatever good you do - ALLAH knows it. And take provisions, but indeed, the best provision is fear of ALLAH. And fear Me, O you of understanding.

Spiritual Preparations:

In this article we will guide you about the spiritual changes that you should do for performing this sacred journey.

  • Make Islamic will before leaving
  • Build on your Taqwah
  • Pray 5 times daily
  • Memorize basic dua's and supplications
  • cleanse your heart and tongue from any bad habit, evils or actions
  • Build patience inside you
  • Maintain positive and good attitude
  • Be more modest
  • Make a lot of zikar and Astaghfaar
  • Pay off your debts
  • Make peace with those you have quarrelled or any disputes before going
  • Ask forgiveness from those people whom you have hurt
  • you must also learn some essential religious things like Hajj or umrah, its types, its importance, how to perform them etc.

Physical Preparations

  • you must have your check-up as if you are capable of completing this sacred journey without any risk to your life
  • You should have your vaccination for some fundamental diseases like TB, cough, flu etc
  • Walk regularly for at least half an hour as you will have to walk for so long during umrah or hajj like tawaaf and saaee
