Hajj, An Ocean OF Humanity

Muslims from every corner of the world are united in their submission to the will of ALLAH Almighty. Few people are so overcome with the emotion that they weep, others feel delighted and happier then they have ever felt before. The pilgrims feel amazed that they are the guest of the most Merciful ALLAH Almighty. He or she attends this gathering by the invitation of ALLAH Almighty, not at the invitation of an organisation or government, nor at the request of a friend or family member.

Hajj is performed because ALLAH Almighty has invited the Muslims to congregate together. In spite of of place of birth, nationality, society, gender, or status, all are welcome, and all are equivalent in the sight of ALLAH Almighty. The Muslims gather to meet with one another and demonstrate to each other, and the globe that they are united. They are united to worship ALLAH Almighty.

Islam is the religion that gives the lesson of unity. Repeatedly throughout the Holy Quran ALLAH Almighty reminds the believers that they should remain united and look for strength through unity. Hajj epitomises this unity. People from different race and colour come together in submission to the will of ALLAH Almighty. Muslims are one brotherhood and they come together with a sense of reason and a desire for peace.

Verse 39:10 of Holy Quran;

Say, "O My servants who have believed, fear your Lord. For those who do good in this world is good, and the earth of ALLAH is spacious. Indeed, the patient will be given their reward without account."

Hajj is the largest yearly gathering of Muslims; it is the major gathering of people united by the serenity and peacefulness that is Islam. Anything that disturbs the peacefulness and calmness of Hajj is strictly prohibited.

Muslims gather together and their diversity is a wonder to observe. The old person stands with the young, the rich stand with the poor one, people of all nationalities and colours stand shoulder to shoulder in prayer, and perform rites and rituals side by side. Muslims at Hajj are one people, they are a peaceful sea of humanity, gathered together to worship One God that is only ALLAH Almighty. Muslims turn their faces in one direction and submit according to the will of ALLAH Almighty. They are united by their love of ALLAH Almighty, and united in their diversity.

Verse 3:103 of Holy Quran;

And hold firmly to the rope of ALLAH all together and do not become divided. And remember the favour of ALLAH upon you - when you were enemies and He brought your hearts together and you became, by His favour, brothers. And you were on the edge of a pit of the Fire, and He saved you from it. Thus does ALLAH make clear to you His verses that you may be guided.
